Deal signed on Austrian - Slovak unit in Kosovo

Milan Cerovský, Chief of the Slovak Army's General Staff, signed an agreement with his Austrian counterpart General Karl Majcen in Bratislava on November 5 making a Slovak military unit part of a Kosovo-bound Austrian peacekeeping force. Majcen said that the agreement further boosted co-operation between the countries' armed forces.

Slovak Defense Minister Pavol Kanis used the occasion to decorate General Majcen, who is to retire with the Memorial Medal of the 1st degree for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Slovakia and Austria. It is the highest acknowledgement that the Slovak Defence Minister can award.
