Small and medium businesses in Slovakia stagnated in 1998

The number of registered self-employed persons in Slovakia was 295,801 at the end of 1998. according to a report released on July 23 by the National Agency for the Support of Small and Medium Businesses.

Tradesmen and small and medium businesses stagnated in all decisive economic areas last year, and the report recommends that the government seek ways for creating conditions for growth.
