New US Ambassador has been named
Several weeks after the departure of former US Ambassador to Slovakia Ralph Johnson and his wife Ann Johnson, US President Bill Clinton announced on June 29 that Carl Spielvogel was the new US Ambassador to the Slovak Republic. Spielvogel, who hails from New York, is graduate of Baruch College of the City University of New York, and is one of the nation's leading international business executives. He created and served as the chief executive officer to major multinational marketing and advertising companies. In addition to his business endeavours, he is also deeply involved in cultural affairs and is a board member of many cultural institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts and the Philharmonic Symphony Society of New York. He also serves as a trustee of Mt.Sinai Hospital and Eureka Communities, an inner-city charity.
