The director of the National Labour Office has said he expects unemployment in Slovakia to rise over 21% early next year from November’s 19% as layoffs in agriculture and construction continue. “We had 19 firms announcing mass layoffs in November alone,” said labour office head analyst Pavol Tomasta.
