First Hungarian Slovaks apply for ethnic certificates

Hungarian embassy in Bratislava said it received first requests for the so called Hungarian nationality certificates which entitles its holders to enjoy various education, travel, and leisure advantages in Hungary.

The certificates are to be issued in line with the Act on Hungarians living in neighbouring countries approved by the Hungarian parliament in June 2001 and effective since January 1 this year.
