Chinese-Slovak relations discussed

THE DEPUTY speaker of Slovak parliament Pavol Hrušovský met the Chairman of China's National People's Congress Li Peng last week and agreed that differences of opinions on certain matters existing between Slovakia and China will not hinder the development of constructive relations.

The politicians say they want to devote more attention to mutually beneficial trade between the two countries and touched on sensitive issues of respect for human rights and religious freedoms along with problems of the Catholic Church in China.
