Family property must be declared

ACCORDING to a proposed law on conflict of interests, public officials and their close relatives will be obliged to make their property interests public. Peter Kresák, one of the law's proposers, said the inclusion of close relatives was designed to prevent the bogus transfer of property within families. He explained: "It's easy to transfer a piece of real estate to your wife, minor son or daughter and then declare 'I have nothing'."
