Potential loan for SLKB

EXIMBANKA is considering offering a 4.4 million euro loan to the troubled SLKB shipyard for the construction of three new vessels.

The export-import bank might provide the loan without a state guarantee in order to boost production at the shipyard which has 966 employees.

Last year, Eximbanka threw a lifeline to the shipyard by granting it a loan of almost DEM 30 million for the construction of three vessels with a state guarantee.

The first vessel was finished on January 10 and the remaining two will be ready to leave the SLKB's docks at the end of February and March.
