Paper mill on the up

AGGREGATE capital investments made by Ružomberok-based pulp and paper mill Severoslovenské Celulózky a Papierne (SCP) totalled Sk1.429 billion ($30.4 million) last year, a 500 per cent increase on 2000, when the company invested in technologies only Sk280 million ($5.9 million). The 2001 investments in technologies has improved capacity, product quality and working conditions as well as making the mill more environment friendly, said Pavol Hlaváč, manager of the engineering centre of the company.
