Retail chain purchases up

COOP Centrum, a purchase alliance of retail chain Jednota, ended 2001 according to preliminary data with a net profit of Sk270,000. The total volume of purchases made by the retail chain through the alliance is estimated to be Sk14.9 billion without value-added tax, up Sk2.22 billion year-on-year.

According to Vladimír Švarc, general director of Coop Centrum, the retail chain purchased 81 per cent of its total retail turnover through Coop Centrum.
