Court to rule on Kováč kidnapping

THE BRATISLAVA regional court is to rule next Tuesday whether to overturn a lower court decision halting prosecution in the infamous 1996 kidnapping of Michal Kováč Jr, the former president's son, because of an amnesty later issued by acting President Vladimír Mečiar. Thirteen people face charges in the case, including former secret service boss Ivan Lexa.
