Gazprom dumps new pipeline plan

Russian gas giant Gazprom yesterday scrapped a project to build a new pipeline bypassing Ukraine through Poland and Slovakia. Reuters quoted a senior Gazprom manager as saying the firm wanted to come to terms with Ukraine.
