DMD Group wants to return to Latin American weapons markets

Companies in the DMD Group, inlcuding engineering companies ZVS Dubnica nad Váhom, Podpolianske Strojárne Detva, and Konstrukta Defense Trenčín, will attend a fair for armament production in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between April 13 and 16. Slovak armament companies will showcase ammunition, artillery systems, and the modernized T 72-M2 tank, said Pavol Turňa, head of the marketing department of DMD Holding.

Turňa said that the Latin American market currently is still in a recession because of the previous financial crisis. "Nevertheless, we hope to reestablish our presence on this territory and regain the position we had in the past ," he added. He called Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, and Uruguay attractive markets. DMD Holding representatives also will hold talks on supplies of Slovak engineering products, especially tractors. "However, we do not except to sign tangible contracts during the fair," Turňa said.
