Mafia murders since 1995

* July 6, 1995 - A bomb explodes in a car parked on Štefaniková Street in Bratislava, killing Vladimír Daniš and his brother Jozef. One of the dead was reputed to be a Bratislava underworld boss.
* February 6, 1997 - Unknown armed culprits shoot dead Miroslav Sýkora, an alleged underworld boss, close to Bratislava's Holiday Inn hotel.
* April 16, 1997 - A bomb explodes in a car parked in the Bratislava suburb of Petržalka, killing underworld figure Peter Križanovič, known as Duran.

* February 6, 1997- Unknown armed culprits shoot dead Miroslav Sýkora, an alleged underworld boss, close to Bratislava's Holiday Inn hotel.

*April 16, 1997 - A bomb explodes in a car parked in the Bratislava suburb of Petržalka, killing underworld figure Peter Križanovič, known as Duran.

*April 27, 1997- An unknown offender puts three bullets into the head of policeman Radoslav Lupták on Ľubovnianska Street in Bratislava.

*August 4, 1997- Unknown offenders kill Rudolf H. from the Dunajská Streda district, stabbing and decapitating him, and leaving his head in a flower pot in front of a department store.

* October 5, 1997- Róbert Holub, alleged boss of the Košice mafia, is shot dead while lying in his hospital bed in Bratislava's Kramáre Hospital.

*October 19, 1997- Peter Kalányi, said to be in conflict with Michal Holáň, known as Gorilla and reputed to be the boss of the Kysuce region underworld, is shot while taking a walk in the small town of Krásne nad Kysucou.

*November 25, 1997- Gorilla and his bodyguard are killed in the Astoria Hotel in Žilina.

* May 9, 1998- A bomb explodes in the Bratislava recreation centre of Zlaté Piesky, killing Bratislava underworld boss Eduard Dinič. The murder was reportedly arranged by the boss of the Ukrainian mafia in Slovakia, Ivan Miškov.

*October 4, 1998- Eduard Dinič's brother is shot dead in Dlhé Diely, a district of Bratislava.
