Police investigating AgriMin official

A top official with the Agriculture Ministry is under investigation for misusing his power in the distribution of state subsidies, say police.

The official, the director of the ministry's Dunajská Streda regional office, saw over Sk200 million ($4 million) pass through his bureau annually, and is accused of favouring firms which in turn offered him trips abroad, or those which returned lucrative subcontracts to a company owned by the official and his wife.
