Former Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar, who until now has said his party would go into opposition after fall elections rather than risk Slovakia’s not being accepted to Nato, told the ČTK news agency “we will survive” not being accepted to the Alliance. “These 5.3 people have nowhere to move to,” he said.
