New national park: Veľká Fatra

The government has approved the creation of Slovakia’s ninth national park in the Veľká Fatra mountain range in central Slovakia. The park contains large tracts of spruce and pine, as well as the preserved village of Vlkolinec, a Unesco world heritage site.
