Devín banka official attacked and beaten

PAVOL Gorner, the bankruptcy trustee for the estate of the failed Devín banka, was attacked by two men on returning to his home in the Bratislava suburb of Petržalka and beaten with what police say were iron rods. He suffered a fractured skull and cheekbone, a concussion and facial injuries, and did not wake up until the next afternoon in hospital. Officials with the SDĽ party have requested he be given police protection.
