Households spend 45% on food, housing

THE AVERAGE Slovak household spends 45 per cent of its income on housing and groceries compared to 35 per cent in neighbouring Austria. Compared to 1995, Slovaks spend more on housing (16.5 to 21.5 per cent) but less on groceries (30 per cent down to 23.6 per cent).
