Doctor Zivago filming in Tatras

The British Grenada Television company has been shooting a film version of Doctor Zivago in the High Tatras since last Sunday. The film, starring British actor Sam Neill, is being shot in Bielovodská Dolina (Whitewater Valley) using about 40 Slovak extras who are being paid Sk500 ($10) a day. Neill’s assistant said that Slovak people were “much nicer than people in the West”, but said the foreign crew had been shocked by the cold.
