A survey by the huge personnel agency William Mercer of living conditions in 215 cities around the world ranks Bratislava in 114th place. The survey, which takes into account political, economic, social and environmental factors, judged Zurich, Switzerland the best and Brazzaville, Congo the worst places to live in the world. Bratislava tied with the Equadoran city Guayaquil behind Brazil’s Sao Paulo and ahead of the South Korean Ulsan.
