Industrial production increases

Industrial production in Slovakia grew in July on a year-on-year basis by 8.3%, and construction output by only 0.5%. Sales of agricultural products were, in revenues, 6.2% higher this year than in July 1997, reported the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (ŠÚSR). For the first seven months of this year, industrial production increased on a year-on-year basis by 5.7%, to 349.8 billion Sk ($9.85 billion), while construction output grew by 6.2% to 43.9 billion Sk ($1.24 billion). Revenues from the sale of agricultural products for the first seven months of this year grew, compared to the same period last year, by 3.9% and reached 17.4 billion Sk ($0.49 billion).
