Layoffs not as bad as feared

Since the beginning of the year nine announced mass layoffs have been cancelled, and according to Labour Office figures only 4,169 jobs this year are at risk. Last year’s announced layoffs of 20,678 people was the lowest figures since 1997’s 14,884.
