Reader feedback: Plain to see: First comes Mečiar, then Big Brother from the East

Unfortunately, getting into Nato is not a priority for many Slovaks in rural areas. Therefore, the parties rallying against the HZDS should be explicit and make a great effort to approach such people to explain to them the economic consequences of the rule of the HZDS in Slovakia.

They should put effort and money in making it clear that with Mečiar there will be not only no Nato but also no EU, no easy access to the common market, and consequently - because no vacuum for Slovakia will last long - our Big Brother will come from the East and return us to his sphere of influence. It is as simple as that.

It's either the West or we remain an island of poverty with huge emigration of young and able brains. This has to be explained in plain language.
