Former Slovak Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar met yesterday with Henry Hyde, the chairman of the House of Representatives Foreign Relations Committee, and was told by the congressman that he personally was a barrier to Slovakia’s joining Nato should he enter government after September 2002 elections.
