The opposition HZDS party has protested a police Swat team search of a car carrying four HZDS officials. The police, who stopped a Toyota Landcruiser on March 23 and searched the vehicle at gunpoint for drugs and weapons, have apologised, saying the raid was not politically motivated. However, HZDS member Peter Novotný called the police behavior “political terror and racism” and said “today I am more prepared than the dissidents of the 1970s and 1980s to suffer.”
