Košice okays tough municipal budget

KOŠICE city councillors on March 25 approved a city budget cutting millions of crowns from planned current expenditures in an effort to ward off forced administration by the Finance Ministry. Košice has over Sk750 million in unpaid liabilities beyond their 60-day due date, which is 122 per cent of the city's budget income for 2001.
