Letter to the Editor: Vacval not our man

Jon Vacval arranged a meeting between [former Slovak Prime Minister Vladimír] Mečiar and Senator Henry J. Hyde of Illinois. Vacval holds himself out as the President of the Slovak World Congress, which is far from the truth. The Slovak World Congress (SWC) distances itself from Vacval and his renegade band of five (there is a non-existent membership in his organisation: Svetový Kongres Zahraničných Slovákov - SWCA).

Is Vacval another puppet of the HZDS established to muddy the water and confuse the public as to their organisational support? The Slovak World Congress is the only world-wide umbrella organisation of Slovaks living abroad, with democratically elected board of governors from around the globe.

Paul Rusnak,
President SWC
