Eva Verešová, 20, from Nitra region was this year's winner, with critics ascribing the decision to the fact her looks differed strikingly from those of the other 11 finalists.
Compared to previous blond and brunette straight long-haired winners, Slovakia new 'miss' has rich bronze curls. Her hair also assured her the Miss Wella Vivality 2002 title at the competition.
Not related to Miss 1999 Andrea Verešová, Eva is now preparing to study culture and tourism management at Nitra university.
She now advances to the Miss World and Miss International competitions later this year.
