Since April 1, a joint-stock company consisting of Žilina banks, and industrial companies, obtained a 30-year lease of the Žilina airport from the University of Žilina. Žilina Airport a.s. wants to provide the possibility to connect Žilina with Prague and other European cities. A 1,350 meter runway is sufficient for airplanes holding up to 50 passengers as well as small cargo planes. A navigational control center will be finished early next spring.
