Forex reserves reach '97 peak at $5.78 bn

On July 2, Slovakia's foreign exchange reserves reached a 1997 peak of $5.77 billion. The reserves were $91.6 million higher compared to the end of 1996. The NBS's reserves were $2.99 billion, $474.5 million below last year's close. The commercial banks' forex reserves increased by $566.1 million and reached $2.77 billion.
