Current account 15.7 bn in red after April

Slovakia's current account recorded a 15.7 billion Sk ($479 million) deficit for the first four months of 1997, National Bank of Slovakia reported. The foreign trade deficit, amounting to 15.6 billion Sk, contributed to the current account's deficit the most. The Slovakia's current account showed a deficit in 1993 (18.5 billion Sk) and then again in 1996 (59.5 billion Sk).
