Reader feedback: Steps must be taken now

Sometime ago in South Africa many roadblocks were set up, with on-line computers, on the same day. All who were stopped and had traffic fines outstanding were sent to jail pending an appearance for the original offence, and of course for "defamation of the court".

The clean-up operation backfired somewhat, as a number of the judges needed for the operation were in jail alongside the guys they were supposed to prosecute.

Even so, steps being taken are a sign of a government doing something, like a surgeon removing a malicious cyst.
