EC knocks Internet prices, connections

THE EUROPEAN Commission reports that Internet connection prices, considered a major barrier to the development of an information-based society, are the second highest in Slovakia among all EU-candidate countries except Lithuania.

Slovakia also lags far behind in the number of public connections to the Internet through libraries or Internet cafes, although compares well in terms of ratio of the population which has access to the medium.
