Foreign bank presence grows

On November 8, Citibank became the first U.S. bank to open in Slovakia, Trend reported on November 22. This year Dresder Bank, Commerzbank, and Hypo-Bank became the first German banks to enter the market. Two other foreign banks have recently opened in Bratislava: Bank Austria and Komerční Banka of the Czech Republic, Národná obroda reported on November 11.
