Mečiar travelled to France in mid-November and met SISIE, an association of 19 French companies mediating business contacts with central and eastern European countries. Possible deals discussed between the premier and the chairman of SISIE's board of directors were the participation of Electricité de France and Framatone to help complete the nuclear power plant in Mochovce, producing Renault cars in Slovakia and the French company's La Farge's involvement in the privatization of a cement producer in Ladce.
