Better collateral rules to help SME loans

PARLIAMENT on June 19 approved a cluster of laws related to European Union accession, including a law on public waterworks and sewage treatment and an amendment to the Civil Code improving rules on collateral to allow movable assets to be used against loans.

The latter change is expected to increase lending to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
