Reader feedback: What were they really doing?

Re: "Peace Corps shuts down Slovak operation", By Dewey Smolka, Vol. 8 No. 24, June 24-30, 2002

I just wondered, what was the primary business [of the Peace Corps] in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Teaching Slovaks - what? Morality? Well, it's about time for them to leave! Wasted time and money and adding insult to two highly educated and developed nations. Unless, as I said, their mission was something else... which I am pretty sure about.
