Police continue to improve reputation

A POLICEMAN who witnesses say was drunk on June 29 shot two people in front of a hotel near Zvolen in central Slovakia, critically injuring one. He has been charged with aggravated assault.

The incident follows already 15 drunk-driving crashes by police this year, which have left six dead and four injured, as well as the arrest last month of four cops suspected of involvement in an armed robbery last year, and one of involvement in the beating of Roma in Košice.
