Attorney General Milan Hanzel has asked for additional investigators to aid an inspection of a suspicious tender that sparked a political scandal last month. The team Hanzel leads has already questioned 20 people in the case, including the Prime Minister and his brother, the former Transport Minister and the entire tender commission which controversially decided to award a multi-billion crown contract for 35 rail engines to a Swiss firm.
Hanzel has said the key to deciding whether the commission, led by PM Mikuláš Dzurinda’s brother Miroslav, ruled objectively will be a verdict from the Office for Public Procurement, which is expected by the end of July.
