Half Slovaks toting and talking on mobiles

OVER 2.5 million Slovaks, or almost half of the population, had mobile phones by the end of June, according to data from mobile operators, with this 'penetration rate' to rise over 60 per cent by the end of the year.

Market leader Orange (formerly Globtel) registered 1.54 million clients at the mid-point of the year, while EuroTel had 1.05 million.
