RECORD exports in June slowed the half-year trade deficit to Sk42 billion, one percent higher than the same figure in 1H01. Analysts expect healthy exports to curb further growth in the deficit this year, bringing it to between Sk80 and 100 billion after last year's record Sk103 billion.
The June export figure of Sk56.9 billion was the highest in Slovak history since the country was founded in 1993. It was driven by strong auto and steel exports.
