Delphi picks Slovakia over Czech Republic

DELPHI, the largest global producer of auto components, has decided to locate a new factory in Slovakia rather than the Czech Republic as earlier planned, because of what Czech state investment officials have said is cheaper Slovak labour.

The investment is worth about Sk300 million ($6.8 million) and will employ 200-250.

Delphi already has a plant in western Slovakia's Senica, which it opened in May 2002.
