Prodi: Don’t fall asleep and you’re in

European Commission head Romano Prodi has said Slovakia is “80 to 90 percent” prepared for EU entry, and that the country can make up the remaining ground before 2004 membership “unless you fall asleep”.

The EC on October 9 published a report on five years of Slovakia’s progress towards EU entry in which it said the young central European nation was ready to join the EU.
