Drum full of marijuana

POLICE found more than a kilogram of hashish when they opened a mail package sent from India to a Bratislava inhabitant that contained two handmade drums, one of which was stuffed with an estimated Sk240,000 ($5,600) of the drug.

Border police inspected the contents of the package because they thought the declared value was too low, said Sylvia Balaszikova, spokeswoman with the border police.

The addressee was taken into custody and if found guilty, he and the sender face up to eight years in jail.
