Rail tender may be scrapped for want of cash

New Transport Minister Pavol Prokopovič says a tender for new rail cars for the state-owned ŽS rail firm, whose scandalous handling toppled the previous Transport Minister, may not be re-staged for lack of money.

This summer, former Transport Minister Jozef Macejko was forced out of office after apparently trying to influence the choice of a tender commission headed by Prime Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda’s brother.
