Mečiar ducks asset declaration rule

FORMER prime minister Vladimír Mečiar failed to submit a declaration of assets to parliament by the November 15 deadline, fuelling speculation about the financing of his controversial villa. Parliament leaders admitted the law gave them no tools to punish MPs who did not submit asset statements.
