ECONOMIC growth in the third quarter of 2002 hit 4.3 per cent from the same period a year ago, the highest since 1998. Analysts attributed the growth to a 5 per cent rise in consumer demand, and a 10 per cent increase in exports.
In other data released December 12, the average national wage in the third quarter of 2002 was Sk13,715 ($334), representing a 6.1 per cent rise in real terms on the same period in 2001. The strongest wage growth was in the public sector, especially in schools and hospitals.
