Train tender scandal draws bribery charge

A FORMER federal Czechoslovak trade minister, Jozef Bakšay, was charged with accepting a bribe in last year's scandal over the attempted purchase of 35 lightweight train cars for the state rail company.

Bakšay allegedly demanded 860,000 euro to influence the tender, which was called off when allegations of corruption surfaced.
