Smer: Stop privatisation thefts

THE OPPOSITION party Smer wants to stop the planned privatisation of state firms by rewriting the privatisation law, and says it will submit the amended version for discussion at an upcoming parliamentary session.

Among the remaining firms set for privatisation are the energy utility SE, state forests, and state-run agricultural firms. Smer leader Robert Fico has accused the ruling coalition of "looking forward to stealing them just like they stole previous [privatised] firms in the past".
